9 Ways to Clear Your Mind and Give Yourself Room for New Success

Have you ever had one of those days where you feel like you’re trying to think through a layer of thick cloth? Your mind simply isn’t cooperating, skittering from topic to topic, you’re searching for words, and you just can’t seem to get on track.

New success calls for a clear head to get things done. Any of these proven tips will help you clear your mind and give yourself room for new success.

Create a List
You can’t figure out what you need to do first if you’ve got a million things going on. Learn to make lists to set our priorities and meet your deadlines

Set Boundaries
You can’t get anything done if you’re constantly distracted or are being interrupted. Success comes in setting boundaries, establishing when and how you use your time.

Journal
Too many thoughts floating around in your head? Try journaling as a way to work through them. Tell yourself all your ideas are being placed away for safekeeping and let them go as you write them down. Let the journal become your thought-keeper for the time being.

Get Organized
Clutter is the enemy of success. Make sure you have all the tools and materials at hand, ready to go so you can find things when you need them. You will be calmer and more productive if you know where everything is.

Do Stuff Now
Stuff you put off is going to intrude into your thoughts throughout the day. Do things now, and you won’t have to worry about it.

Drop Negative Thoughts
There is no place for negative thoughts. When you catch yourself thinking negatively, either flip it over to a positive take on the same thing or drop the thought altogether.

Quit Saying ‘Yes’
schedule overload leads to thought overload and the stress that comes with that. Learning when and how to say no will protect your time and keep you from the worry of unfinished tasks.

Give Yourself Some Time Out
Meditate, take a day off, go outside, take a walk. Sometimes just getting away is all you need to quiet your mind.

Remember, not everything is going to work, depending on the kind of mental clutter you’re dealing with. So, if something isn’t doing the trick, simply move on to the next item on the list and try again. Keep going until you find what works best for you.
